Should I take thermodynamics or quantum mechanics?

I want to do semiconductor and photovoltaics research. Which class would help me more towards that end?

    Since you want to do research in Semiconductors and photovoltaics, you should probably opt for Quantum mechanics as it will help you to understand structures at subatomic levels which are partly required in semiconductors.
